Inviting Experts to Address Students – Expert speakers were invited by the department to address the students on the following areas in the current NAAC cycle

  • A career in Capital Market
  • India’s Trade Policy
  • Analysis of The Union budget

Organizing Intra and Inter-Collegiate Competitions – To develop competitive skills among the students the department at regular intervals has been organizing competitions. A few of the competition organized by the department are as follows-

  • Poster painting competition -Save Environment
  • Essay writing competition - Ban On Plastics
  • Debate competition -Privatization Of Public Sector Bank, GST, Should Women Enter Sabrimala Temple
  • Quiz Competition
  • Research paper competition

Conducting Seminars On Current topics- To upgrade the capability of the students and faculty the department has been organizing workshops on varied topics. In the current NAAC cycle workshops were organized on the following issues

  • Content Analysis
  • How to prepare for NET/SET examination
  • one-day national level seminar on “Impact of GST On Indian Economy”
  • one-day International Conference in collaboration with JJTU and SPDT Skill Development Centre on “Innovations in Education”
  • one-day International Conference in collaboration with BCA and Management Studies on” Future Ready Education“

Organising Field Trips- To provide practical exposure to students study visits are organised by the department are regular intervals In the current NAAC cycle the following study visits were organized.

  • Tribal area –Dhairvali, DongrachPada
  • Factories- Ice cream factory, Arihant Industry
  • Wholesale market,
  • Training Units

Organizing Training for Students

To enhance the employability of the students the department has associated with ICICI Skill Academy, Kotak Unnati Foundation, BSE Brokers Forum, and various professionals.

Students led activities

To achieve the vision of the institution to empower women the department allows the students to take up leadership roles. As part of this endeavor, the students organize Economics week annually in which series of competitions, visits, and expert lectures are organized.
