The department of Computer Applications was established in 2005.
Intake capacity: 60 students.
Facilities offered to students
High-tech Computer Labs:
There are 3 IT labs in college. The labs are well equipped with latest PCs (120+), Projectors, networking and internet facilities, to enable hands on experience of the concepts in IT.
Teaching Aids:
The department is equipped with Digital Camera, Web Camera, Mike, Laptop, projectors for better learning environment using various audio-visual aids.
Book Loan Facility & Departmental Library:
Textbooks and Reference Books are made available to students as per requirement. Through the book bank facility, the books are made available for the entire semester to each student.
Apart from this the departmental library also maintains a collection of books useful for students. Books for preparing for competitive entrance exams and interviews are regularly issued by students.
Internet:
Internet facility is available to the students whereby they can get information that is needed to prepare their projects and reports. It also helps them to gather up to date information about the latest topics in their subjects.
Industrial Tie up:
Students are referred to various IT Companies like MICM, Innovator Web Solutions where they get exposure to work on live Projects and current technologies in the IT field.
Guidance and Counseling Cell:
Guidance is provided to our students with regards to their career and social needs by well-known IT & Education Consultant as well as successful alumni.
Placement Cell:
The College has formed a placement cell to help the students to seek suitable jobs.
The placement cell is responsible for arranging the required guiding sessions for making the students able to face technical tests and interviews.
The placement cell sends students for pool campus in other colleges and also placement drive is organized in the college premises where in various companies and their placement officers visit the college campus and hold aptitude and interview session for selecting required candidates.
Organizations like SAAR IT, Innovator Web Solutions, TISS, Epicenter technology pvt. Ltd., Adept HR haveconducted campus recruitment drives where eligible students got selected.
Many students have been placed in various IT companies like TCS, ONGC, M & A Associates, Marg software, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Deloit and the likes.
Our students are consistently getting selected in, post-graduation with employment opportunities offered by tech giants such as Wipro and TCS.
Academic Events:
Seminars, Workshops and Training Programs on various aspects of IT, personality development, communication skills, and career opportunities are conducted on a regular basis.
Topics in trend with today’s world like Cybercrime security, Blockchain, AI and Python programming are introduced to students to widen their horizon.
National and state level research paper presentation conferences are also organized in college through which students get a platform to showcase their innovative abilities and get to know the world of research.
Industrial Visits:
Industrial visits to various IT firms and institutes are another highlight of the department. A number of short visits covering organizations in and around the city and one long industrial visit to IT Hubs like Bangalore, Delhi, Pune and other far off places with prominent IT companies are organized.
Co-curricular and Extracurricular Activities:
Students are encouraged to take part in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities, competitions at college and inter-collegiate level like dance competition, website designing, power point presentations etc.
There are inter and intra-collegiate events like TechnoMedia, ‘Melange-the media fest’, Kaushalya, Navratri fest, and many more, which give a platform for students to unleash their hidden talents.
Value added Courses:
For further enrichment of students, value added courses like .Net, advance Java, Oracle, Android application development followed by a project, Python, Advance SQL, Office automation and Photoshop are conducted by the department.
Women’s Issues, acertificate course recommended by University, is also offered by the department.
A Bridge course in mathematics is also provided for First Year students.
Student Evaluation System:
It helps the faculty as well as students to track and improve the academic performance of students.
Student’s performance is recorded based on the following:
- Attendance Record as per subjects.
- Marks secured in Internal exams of various types which include written exams, viva-voce, presentations, online exams, practical exams, and other modes.
