ABOUT THE SUBJECT:

Sociology in general, is concerned with society. Society is seen as a network of social relations arising from man’s biological, psychological and social inter dependence; the interactions resulting and the various processes and phenomena as products of such interactions. Sociology deals with that domain of interaction and inter-relation which cause and affect the social life of the people.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

Sociology is one of the disciplinary components offered to the students who seek admission to the THREE YEAR INTEGRATED COURSE (DEGREE COURSE).

The department organizes seminars, workshops talks and field visits on issues which are not only socially relevant but also of interest to the student community at large Through propaganda in the college, students are encouraged to join and participate in all departmental activities. Preference is given to students from the COMMERCE STREAM. Lectures of eminent personnel are arranged in HINDI and MARATHI languages so that students of all mediums can benefit from the same..

The S.N.D.T. Women’s University to which this college is affiliated introduced the SEMESTER PATTERN during the academic year2009-2010 at the FIRST YEAR LEVEL (B.A.I).
