Partnership of SHRI M. D. SHAH MAHILA COLLEGE OF ARTS & COMMERCE with IGNOU
Shri M. D. Shah Mahila College has forged partnership with IGNOU under the CONVERGENCE SCHEME. Under the Scheme, the Institution may offer Certificate/ Undergraduate/Postgraduate Programmes of IGNOU. Admission to these courses is open to both boys and girls. Under this Scheme, College announces admission to the following.

Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of supervisory / managerial / professional experience OR Professional Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine / Architecture / Law / Pharmacy OR Professional Qualifications in Accountancy / Cost and Works Accountancy / Company Secretary ship, etc. OR A Master’s degree in any subject.

5 Semesters

Masters of Computer Application (MCA)

Bachelor of Computer Science / Applications / Information Sciences / Information Technology from Recognized / Deemed University. OR Other Graduates / Non-Computer Science B.Tech / M.Sc (such applicants are required to pursue CIC concurrently with MCA 1st semester) OR Graduates with PGDCA from a Recognized / Deemed University or its equivalent course not less than one year from a State Board of Technical Education, or its equivalent body established by the Central / State Government.

3 Years

Master in English (MA) with English

Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

2 Years

Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECE)

10+2 or its Equivalent

6 Months

Certificate in Functional English

10+2 or its Equivalent

6 Months

 

Prospectus and forms will be issued from the College after 20th August. Except MBA there is walk-in-admissions throughout the year for the programs. Application forms submitted between 1st June and 30th November will be considered for January 2009 session while applications received between 01 December and 31 May will be considered for July 2009 session. Admission to Management Programmes is done through OPENMAT Entrance Examinations, held twice a year.

Method of instructions:
The University follows a multimedia approach for instruction, which comprises:
Self Instructional Written Material, Audio-Visual Material Aids, counseling sessions (The sessions will be held during the non-working hours of the College and the faculty for the sessions will be drawn from within the College or from University or post-graduate departments of colleges), Teleconferences and Practical/Project Work.
